a surprise. I wake up and I can't believe this
is my job and I get to do this."

HILARY DUFF confident she won't
be a dysfunctional adult
|
HILARY DUFF believes she has
low chances of growing up to
become a dysfunctional
former child star - because
she wasn't pushed into her
career.
The teen singer and actress,
who has been in show business
since the tender age of
nine, has watched a number
of young stars grow older
and become resentful wrecks
as their careers fade. But
Duff would like to think she
won't be a statistic.
She says, "I think I'm
really lucky, I'm happy. I
think so much of the
difference is when I was
younger I grew up watching
so many of these older
people and the difference is
that they didn't get to
choose if they wanted it.
Their parents made them do
it.
"Or they started at such a
young age they didn't have a
choice, and that's not
really how my sister and I
started. I was old enough to
know that I liked it.
"Another thing is a lot of
them, I think, are the main
income for the family, so
they kind of don't get
disciplined like normal
children. They get away with
a lot more because they're
supporting the family."
