Hilary Duff's a
'Material Girl'
|
I don't get the point of
starring in a movie with
your sister. Take Hilary and
Haylie Duff. You'd think
they'd want to stike out on
their own to prove that
they're just as good without
each other. But instead,
they'll star in a movie
together, making them seem
like more of a novelty act.
The sisters Duff will star
in the comedy Material Girls
about a couple of
celebutante cosmetics
heiresses who lose their
fortune in a corporate
scandal. The movie follows
the two as they set out to
investigate and expose the
culprit. Frankly, it sounds
more Olsen twins than Duff
sisters, but who am I to
say.
Martha Coolidge will direct
from a script by John
Quaintance, rewritten by
Susan Jansen (The Lizzie
Maguire Movie) and Amy
Rardin & Jessica O'Toole.
Production is set to begin
in Los Angeles April 18.
The movie, to be co-financed
by Maverick films, was
inspired by Maverick
co-chairman Madonna's hit
song "Material Girl". Hilary
Duff will re-record that
song for the movie's
soundtrack. |
