Hilary Duff saved from stalker

An 18-year old man who had been stalking actress Hilary Duff has reportedly been arrested. Sources say that Manhattan Beach cops arrested Maksim Miakovsky after he allegedly threatened to kill Duff this weekend. The Russian émigré, who was nabbed at a Residence Inn last Friday, has been booked on charges of making criminal threats and stalking. Last month, Duff and her paramour, Joel Madden, had expressed fears over being hurt by Miakovsky, and asked for a restraining order against him. The duo said in their complaint that that Miakovsky "has stated his intention of 'removing' his 'enemies' (i.e., those who prevent him from being with her), has stated his intention of purchasing a weapon, and has threatened to kill himself and to engage in dramatic actions to get her attention." According to TMZ, when contacted by a private investigator from Sunset Protective Services at the Residence Inn last Friay, Miakovsky stated his intention of killing the actress on Sunday, when she was slated to attend an event. The legal papers filed by Duff state that Miakovsky came to the US "for the sole purpose of meeting and becoming romantically involved with Ms. Duff." Miakovsky is currently being held on 200,000 dollars bail at the Manhattan Beach jail. He's scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday.
